Delicious when chopped on top of a pizza or chopped raw to be used in a salad.
These thin, bright red chillies known as 'Fire flame' grow hot fruits which ripen from green to red. Lovers of spicy and exotic cuisine will love the hot cayenne pepper-style flavour.
There are several origins for the name cayenne, the parent species from which the hybrid Fire Flame Chilli was bread. The most plausible is the French Guianese town of Cayenne and the River Cayenne (also in French Guiana. One of the earliest mentions of this pepper is in the book the Complete Herbal, written in 1653, in which the cayenne is used (incorrectly) as a synonym for the Bird's Eye or Piri Piri.
The cayenne pepper species is known for its detoxification properties and is commonly used to improve digestion and in weight-loss diets.
