Product description

Introducing Akabanga from Sina Rwanda – the perfect chilli oil for your kitchen and looking to add a serious kick to your meals? Then look no further – Akabanga offers heat from just a few drops! A hot chilli oil combines 80% yellow chilli pepper (Scotch Bonnet) extract and 20% sunflower oil to give dishes that extra kick.

This product is precisely what you need for those who want to experience the unique flavour of Rwanda's original hot sauce. Akabanga was invented by Sina Gerard in 1983, one of the few commercially-available sauces from Rwanda, making it an exceptional addition to any pantry. All you need is a drip or two - and your meal will be transformed into something even more delicious!

If you genuinely value the authenticity and flavour of Rwandan cuisine, Akabanga is perfect for you. Make authentic Rwandan dishes with ease and unlock spicy flavours like never before! Get ready for incredible new culinary adventures today with this incredible chilli oil!

This 'secret' formula is often referred to in Rwanda as pili-pili - the Kinyarwanda word for chilli. (Similar to peri-peri or piri-piri). But unlike most other sauces from the continent, it does not contain bird's eye chillies.

Each bottle contains 100ml of the chilli sauce, lasting quite a while because only a drip or two is required with each plate.

Fell in love with this in Rwanda

I watched an episode of Hot Ones with Kristen Bell and she mentioned Akabanga, I immediately thought, can I get this in the UK?
YES! I ordered 6 bottles :D
It's all the spice I need (except maybe for the odd Naga curry!)

I love this chili oil.

It adds a cracking kick to all my favorite food , especially good at livening up a noodle broth.
